Summary


We are looking for a Deputy Chief Pharmacy Technician at Ipswich Hospital to join us in this key role within our Pharmacy team.

You will be responsible for leading on the ESNEFT Pharmacy Medicines at Home service which includes all Homecare services and OPAT (outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy). You will be deputising for the Chief Pharmacy Technician for Logistics and Procurement.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Pharmacy Medicines at Home service, providing medication to over 4500 patients across East Suffolk and North Essex, saving NHS economy £3.5million in the last financial year.

You will be line managing the medicines at home team and procurement team, ensuring their wellbeing along with their professional and personal development.
• To assist the Chief Pharmacy Technician (Logistics-Ipswich) and Assistant Chief Pharmacist (Logistics) in leading on the strategic development of pharmacy Medicines at Home service to the trust and external customers (where relevant) to meet local, regional and nationally agreed requirements and priorities.
• To deputise and act as a point of contact on Procurement and Medicines at Home for the Chief Pharmacy Technician (Logistics-Ipswich). This will include attendance at Pharmacy Senior Leadership Group and regional Pharmacy procurement and homecare meetings.
• To minimise out-of-stocks
• To lead on all aspects of pharmacy stock control
• To co-ordinate the Management of pharmacy stock losses of medicines and implement processes to minimise avoidable stock losses
