JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 17 year old boy living in the Butetown area of Cardiff. I am a wheelchair user and am diagnosed with Down Syndrome and mild Autism. I enjoy music, singing and seeing new place. I also love going to the shops where I can enjoy activities such as people watching and bird watching. I prefer my own personal space so because of this I don’t like busy or noisy places. I will need the PA to assist me with putting my seatbelt on and off to make sure that I am safe but I won’t need help getting in and out of car.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I need support with activities within my home as well as accessing the local community.
PLACE OF WORK
The place of work will be my home.
HOURS OF WORK
4 hours in total, Weekends only.
RATE OF PAY
£12.85 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Personal care
Assist with dressing
Support with feeding
Support with activities in the community
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Reliable
Patient
Trustworthy
Ability to take initiative
Caring
Friendly
Full Driving licence
Desirable qualities
Experience with children with disabilities.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
