About the role…

We have an opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our Central Support team in Newcastle who look after 36 hotels, bars and restaurants across the country. As an Accounts Assistant you will work closely with other members of the finance team and report to the Group Financial Controller.

Main responsibilities:

  • Reconciling weekly sales report, investigating any differences
  • Uploading weekly sales onto Sage 200
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit Card and Cash reconciliations
  • Weekly and Monthly reporting to the various stakeholders
  • Participate where needed in monthly management accounts and with the yearly audit.
  • Processing of petty cash.
  • Duties as required on an ad hoc basis for the company

About you…

  • While it would be fantastic if you had some experience in the hospitality industry, it is not essential. The more important aspects for us are:
  • Willingness to learn
  • Work confidently with numbers
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, particularly when dealing with hotel teams
  • Ability to write clearly for correspondence
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible
  • Ability to use your own initiative
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 and Opera is useful, but not essential
