Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to join the Health Records team at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Health Records department is responsible for running of the central Scanning Bureaus for the Trust. The department is looking for a reliable and organised individual to take on the role of Assistant Medical Records Library Manager.

• The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of an efficient, effective and comprehensive Health Records department.
• The post holder will help lead, coordinate and manage the Health Records team.
• The post holder will help manage the Scanning Bureau, supporting patient care through the timely availability of patient documentation.
• The Health Records department encompasses the day-to-day management of our patients health records, managing the remaining paper notes and the transition to an electronic health record.
• The post holder will also be responsible for the day-to-day management and the continued development of the Health Records department and Scanning Bureau, based at Freeman Hospital.
• The post holder will be required to work with multiple teams to ensure a first class class service provision is maintained.

• To be responsible for the day to day management of an efficient, effective and comprehensive Medical Records Library.
• To lead, coordinate and manage the Medical Records team within budget constraints
• To manage recruitment, induction, probation, appraisal, disciplinary, training and personal development.
• To ensure that the function meets national and local targets including waiting time targets
• To manage the medical records libraries to support patient care through the timely availability of patient case notes to all users.
• Responsible for issues associated with all front of house / reception and areas
• Assist / Deputise for the Medical Records Library Manager
• To manage the design, implementation, monitoring and communication of service improvements and suggest new ways of working to improve efficiency and realise cost improvement targets.
• To ensure that Trust and Directorate objectives, policies and directives are communicated and implemented in a timely and appropriate manner to the staff.
