HGV MECHANIC SUPERVISOR REQUIRED : to work on MAN, DAF, VOLVO fh model trucks/sweepers and to manage a team of 4 mechanics at our Bradford depot ,
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Workshop Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our fleet and workshop.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and excellent leadership skills to manage a team of technicians effectively.
Duties:
• Manage and supervise workshop staff, including assigning tasks and providing guidance
• Maintain workshop equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition
• Carry out HGV Safety Inspections, ·Routine Maintenance
• Coordinate with suppliers to order necessary parts and materials at the best rate for repairs
• Oversee workshop safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules
• Ensure the fleet complies with operational legislation as set out by the traffic commissionaire.
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills: -
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use Break tester, hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other workshop machinery
• Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs
NICE TO HAVE
• Knowledge of Plant machinery
