Printcraft manufactures over 70% of all our greetings cards sold within our own stores nationally and internationally. It is a forward-thinking business with the state of the art equipment operating a large production site working 24/7. We produce over ¼ billion items per year on ultra-modern equipment.

We\'re looking for an experienced Multi skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team! You\'ll need excellent mechanical (70%) and electrical (30%) knowledge, including robotics repairs. The role involves following maintenance programs, quick and effective machine breakdown responses, building maintenance, and stock management of spare parts. Design skills to maintain/improve machine efficiency are also key.

Shift pattern - 40 hours per week, working 11.30am to 8pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 6pm Friday (potential for weekend availability during peak trading months).

Role Responsibility

  • To be able to follow and undertake various maintenance programs both mechanically and electrically
  • Excellent all-around electrical and mechanical knowledge of general modern machinery and robotics
  • Machine breakdowns and preventative maintenance to optimise and improve production uptime, this will include both mechanical and electrical knowledge to problem find and resolve in a timely manner and prioritise on your own ability.
  • Have the ability to execute general repairs to various robots within the business
  • Excellent team working skills with a positive can-do attitude and willingness to train and develop others
  • Understanding problems and have the ability to design solutions to solve problems to maintain machine efficiency
  • Have the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation and also work with 3rd party companies
  • Good level and high standards of house- keeping and health & safety within all departments

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent qualifications in either electrical or mechanical discipline
  • Excellent all-around electrical and mechanical knowledge of general modern machinery and robotics.
  • Good overall knowledge of robotics and pneumatics including programming and general repairs.
  • Mechanical design skills with the ability to see the problem and resolve through design innovation
  • Analysing and problem-solving skills, anticipates problems before they occur and takes steps to deal with them/correctly and swiftly identifies the underlying problem and finds appropriate solutions
  • Decision making skills, makes timely decisions/takes account of the wider risks and implications
  • Scissor lift licence (training given)
  • Excellent communication skills
