Summary

Our client is looking for a qualified Farm Manager in the Kingswood area.

Your Main Duties:
- Manage the daily welfare programme of all animals and birds at the farm by
setting own work priorities and organising an appropriate staff routine of proactive
inspection and care, including regular feeding, cleaning and watering, vaccinations
and organising routine specialist care such as farrier services.

- Manage and supervise the farm staff and volunteers, directed their work according
to the service need and ensuring compliance with safe working practices and the
council’s policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.

- Be accountable for compliance with Government legislation and requirements
related to farm management and maintaining all required records necessary for
good farm practice and management.

- Facilitate basic maintenance of farm buildings, fences, gates and animal pens for
the safety and welfare of the animals and the visiting public.

- Actively encourage and support community and volunteer involvement on the farm
including facilitation of work, supervision of work and being the main contact
between the Council and farm users.

- Participate in regular farm steering group meetings and be the primary lead for
directing the animal welfare, educational. events and activities programme for the
whole farm to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff, students, farm users and
all animals.

- Will need to drive a tracker.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience.
- A formal qualification in farm management and conservation or equivalent, to an
NVQ level 3 or higher.

- Ability to carry out minor repairs to farm infrastructure including animals shelters,
fencing and gates.

- Considerable working knowledge of farm animal welfare, farm management and
relevant farming techniques.

- Experienced in working with farm machinery.

Hours: 08:30 am start 5:30 pm finish

Rate of pay: £17.60

Start: 06/05/2024

Type of assignment: Long term sickness cover.
