The Opportunity... At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. EPR-E established in 2023, is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E. As the Cost Control Manager, you will hold a pivotal role in defining and executing the cost management strategy, methodology, and structure within EPR-E (EDF EPR Engineering UK).

- Define and implement a comprehensive Earned Value Management strategy specifically tailored for the HPC project.
- Establish, monitor, and uphold an efficient Expat cost process for all EPR-E expatriate staff.
- Functionally oversee all cost controllers integrated into the HPC and SZC projects.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all cost-related matters between EPR-E and its clients (Edvance SAS, SZC Directorate, EDF).
- Ensure that all cost controllers within EPRE have the necessary training, qualifications, and tools to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Edvance to develop relevant cost Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure that the necessary infrastructure for their implementation, updating, and dissemination is in place and actively used.
- Take charge of preparing and validating EPRE's performance KPIs in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the EPRE Director, HPC Director, and project controls managers.Who you are…

- Extensive experience in cost management, project controls, or related fields, preferably within the construction, engineering, or energy sector.
- Proficiency in cost management methodologies, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost control techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends to make informed decisions.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities to effectively oversee a team of cost controllers and collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex cost- related concepts to various audiences.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strategic thinking ability to develop and implement cost management strategies aligned with organisational objectives.Your background may include some of the following:
- Advanced proficiency in relevant software tools for cost management, such as SAP, Oracle Primavera, or Microsoft Project
- Proven track record of successfully implementing Earned Value Management (EVM) strategies and processes in large-scale projects.
- Previous experience in functional management or supervision of cost controllers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with clients and key stakeholders to address cost-related issues and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Experience in developing and implementing cost-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor project performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations related to cost management, such as ISO 21500 or PMI's Practice Standard for Earned Value ManagementClosing Date: 3rd May 2024
