Binit collect waste and recycling from over 300 sites across the UK. We receive data from over 30 subcontractors in many different formats. You will be responsible for converting this data to a usable format so that it can be presented to our customers and analysed to optimise service, improve operational efficiency, and help our customers improve their recycling performance.


Under the guidance of
a senior college or multiple colleagues across the business, you will be
responsible for delivering a high level of customer service and providing
speedy and effective responses to queries, answering phone calls and emails,
communicating with customers and suppliers, forwarding sales and accounts
queries to the relevant colleagues . Previous experience
not necessary as full training will be provided.
We are looking for a person confident with their general IT skills, ideally including Excel, with a methodical approach to their work and strong attention to detail.


Duties will include:
• Source data from a collection of already identified trusted sources in a secure manner.
• Blend data by combining data from various sources and formats to explore its relevance for the business needs.
• Analyse simple and complex structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes using basic statistical methods to analyse the data.
• Validate results of analysis using various techniques, e.g. cross checking, to identify faults in data results and to ensure data quality.
• Communicate results verbally, through reports and technical documentation and tailoring the message for the audience.
• Collaborate with people both internally and externally at all levels with a view to creating value from data.
• Practise continuous self-learning to keep up to date with technological developments to enhance relevant skills and take responsibility for own professional development.

Wages:
£6.40 ph for the first year
£12.00 ph thereafter (Living Wage Foundation)


Training
One day a week at Exeter College (during term time) working towards your Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship.

Qualifications required


GCSE/Level 2 English and Maths


Skills required


Source and migrate data from already identified different sources - we use many subcontractors and the data we receive is in a wide range of forms, accessed through portals, spreadsheets, invoices, sometimes physical weigh bridge tickets, as well as our app.
Summarise and explain gathered data
Operate as part of a multi-functional team
Prioritise within the context of a project
Work with a range of internal and external customers
Value difference and be sensitive to the needs of others
A head for data analytics
Data management and process flow development
Disciplined and self-motivated
Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, databases and general office applications such as Outlook, Excel and MS Teams



Prospects
After successful completion of the Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship, there may be the opportunity to progress to the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship. Binit is a fast-growing company, and there will be many opportunities to develop and grow beyond this.
