Summary
Reporting directly to the surveying consultant and being a vital member of the junior team, you will work closely with the Senior Building Surveyor, Senior Project Manager and Managing Director from our office at Exeter Science Park. The role is offers huge potential for career development in an emerging sector.
This role combines the ability to earn, learn and develop as an individual and along with the company as a whole, being an important member of progress and development and to build on the current and on-going company’s success. This is a young organisation which is expanding and looking for an individual who is naturally determined and enjoys variety and variation of work from desktop work, on site work, public and private sector work and combining this all alongside a minimum of a Level 4 HNC in Building Services through an apprenticeship.
There are multiple learning opportunities and establishments which will be thoroughly discussed if successful post interview stage. It is advised and recommended to research into these opportunities which will enable the basis of personal development.
A passionate and keen learner who is looking to develop their understanding of infrastructure concepts and the working-built environment who enjoys customer engagement, being a member of a team, and has a drive to deliver specialist and leading work within the sustainability sector. Possessing a desire to begin your journey within this sector and genuinely make a difference.
There is scope to progress through the company in multiple avenues due to the already diverse and skilled portfolio of full time and sub-contracted employees. You will be able to naturally think on your feet and use your learning to progress your workflow as well as using your workflow to develop and build on your assignments at college.
Training
You will undertake the Building Services Engineering Senior Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship with Exeter College.
Qualifications required
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 6 or above) including Maths and English.
- Educated to level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject and looking to achieve level 4 and above through apprenticeship scheme.
Skills required
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Maths skills.
- Full UK driving license.
Prospects
This role will provide the foundations to progress within the built infrastructure sector with a focus on sustainability. We currently have an employee undertaking the L4 Building Services qualification who is progressing onto achieving RICS accreditation as an Associate Surveyor. We will highly support further education post apprenticeship in the form of level 6+ qualifications and accreditations.

Duration 24 months
