Summary

We are recruiting a Cook at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 21 hours per week which will include weekends and bank holidays. Usually working 3 days per week from approximately 7.30 am to 3pm

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Older People Residential Services Team

We pay an attractive salary of £13,337 - £13,560 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Caerphilly County Borough Council have a great opportunity for a Cook at our Beatrice Webb Residential Home located in Blackwood. This role is permanent and part time working 21 hours per week which will include weekends and bank holidays. Usually working 3 days per week from approximately 7.30 am to 3pm, consideration will also be given to any applicants who want to work less than 21 hours, and this can be discussed at interview stage.

A sound knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, The Food Safety Act and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), would be beneficial although not essential. However, you will need to have an understanding of the principles that underpin quality care e.g. dignity, choice etc. adopt a person-centred approach and be courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.

For the role, we ask that you have:

Basic Food Hygiene.
Willing to work towards QCF/NVQ level 2/3 in Catering, within specified timeframes. (If not in receipt of)
Knowledge of Food Safety act 1990, Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 and Food Information Regulations 2014
