Further information:
A PA is required for a 10-year-old boy who loves playing computer games and activities such as trampolining, rock climbing and exploring forest areas. A PA who is a good listener and who has similar interests would be ideal as he likes to talk endlessly about his interests such as talking about Minecraft, Fortnite and Roblox. Your role will involve helping the boy to access physical activities such as climbing, swimming, and trampolining, and to participate in them with him.
He can be reluctant to leave the house due to anxieties, however, once he is out, he very much enjoys himself.
You will need to ideally have experience or knowledge of ASC and ADHD, and experience of dealing with children who have difficulties managing their emotions and sensory needs.
You will be very aware that this young boy has little health and safety awareness, particularly whilst crossing the road and talking to strangers, you must ensure his health and safety is always of paramount importance.
Ideally the hours will be used at weekends, however this can be flexible to meet both yours and his requirements and can be discussed.
Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by the local authority/employer.”
