Further information:

A personal assistant with a good understanding of ASD and sensory processing issues is required to support a 5-year-old boy, living in the HU5 area of Hull. The boy enjoys soft play and going on the swings in the local park. He also likes to run around the park and throw things in the air. Your role will be to support him with the above activities and encourage him to try new activities.

The boy is doubly incontinent so you may need to change him whilst out and about with him. He does not like crowds and can nip/bite so you may need to encourage him to use his ear defenders and/or remove him from the environment.

You will be very aware that he has no sense of danger and must ensure his safety at all times. The boy uses a wheelchair for longer distances. He is non – verbal and communicates by hand leading and passing you objects he wants and making noises. If he is unhappy or not wanting to follow instructions he will pinch or squeeze your hand.

First aid training would be an advantage.

Car Driver with own car preferred.
