Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CBT therapist to join our Talking Therapies service in Knowsley. Our professional and supportive team of CBT therapists, PWPs, counsellors and support staff respond to the needs of adults experiencing common mental health difficulties. Working both autonomously and as part of the team, the successful candidate will work with people with a variety of presentations providing high intensity step 3 interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines. The team is involved in leading on projects linking with other teams across the trust, in addition to external agencies. This provides you with an opportunity to support service users from diverse backgrounds such as with long-term conditions, older adults and young people aged 16-25. With a robust CPD offering and encouraged access to further training, the role provides a fantastic opportunity to creatively develop both the service and as an individual.

Provide high intensity psychological interventions for people whose needs are complex or chronic.

Provide specialist assessment, formulation and treatment, including consultation and recommendations regarding service users’ care to colleagues.

Undertake systemic measurement of clinical outcomes with service users. Work in partnership with service users to achieve the best possible care plans.

Utilise research skills for audit, research, service evaluation and service development.

Provide clinical supervision for staff who are providing High Intensity Therapy at Step 3.

Receive supervision for post holders own work.

Provide advice and support for colleagues whose background is not in Step 3 High Intensity Therapy.

Undertake specialist psychologist assessment, formulation and treatment of Step 3 within a stepped care model.

To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and any complex factors concerning the client’s psychological needs.

To communicate directly with clients, carers, relatives and other health professionals, complex and potentially emotive information regarding clients condition, treatment, prognosis, subject to ethical boundaries of confidentiality.

Utilise and provide line management and clinical case management/supervision to ensure that care and treatment are tailored to service users, family and community needs and that learning needs are identified and acted upon to ensure personal development.

To provide specialist psychological advice and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to client’s formulation, diagnosis and treatment plans.

Deliver high quality High Intensity Therapy in the catchment area working with complex Step 3 cases within a stepped care model. Undertake direct clinical work for people whose needs are complex, chronic or involve anxiety, OCD, PTSD, depression, or other clinical problems appropriate for Step 3 HIT therapy.

Participate in multi-disciplinary care planning, risk assessment and risk management.

Supervise qualified and unqualified HIT therapists.

Provide skilled communication in cases requiring a high level of ethical and emotional sensitivity.

Receive appropriate supervision and participate in CPD.
