Summary


Junior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a specialist interest in Undergraduate Medical Education

It is anticipated that this will be a fixed-term appointment for six months to extend the post, dependent on success.

This post is ideally suited for a motivated candidate with ST2/3 (or equivalent) level clinical competencies interested in working in a busy obstetrics and gynaecology unit and teaching and training future clinical workforce.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the undergraduate education team to coordinate, develop and deliver the local undergraduate curriculum for year four medical students from Queen Mary’s University of London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The successful applicant will participate in multi-disciplinary training programmes such as PROMPT with the Education Leads.

This Trust post is a 6-month Fixed Term Full-Time Clinical Fellow (ST 1-3 equivalent) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal London Hospital. There is scope to extend the contract depending on the success of the candidate in the post.

The post holder would be expected to have a wide range of skills within the speciality and would support the department in both obstetrics & gynaecology on-call duties, clinics and theatres.

Training and teaching opportunities will be provided. Training requirements and opportunities specific to a tertiary unit can be explored at the interview if shortlisted.

On call duties

The post-holder will begin on the SHO rota at 1:10 on calls. This is a 3-tier rota; there are 2 SHOs on call a Junior registrar and a Senior registrar. The onsite obstetric consultant covers at The Royal London Hospital from 08:00-2200. There is a separate Gynaecology Consultant on call who is onsite from 08:00 -1700 and off-site from 17:00-08:00
