Summary
JOB SUMMARY To provide a high standard of domestic, catering and general household duties within a ward environment for people with mental health problems. To assist and monitor patients, in cleaning and tidying their own bedroom environment. To liaise with ward staff in the allocation of ward based cleaning tasks for service users. To monitor, encourage and assist the service users to ensure that an acceptable standard of work is maintained. KEY RESULT AREAS: Service user contact To assist patients in their activities of daily living, ensuring that they have adequate supplies and assistance to maintain their personal standards. To build a good therapeutic relationship with service users, in order to encourage and assist them, in taking care of their own living space. To immediately report any anxieties or concerns to the nurse in charge of the ward and domestic supervisor. To ensure the ward or department is cleaned and maintained in a manner which promotes positive therapeutic interactions. Monitor and report to nurse in charge of a ward area and the domestic supervisor, any concerns or identified problems, in terms of a service users dietary needs. Monitor and advise patients on healthy eating options where required. Alert nurse in charge to any food item found, which contravenes units banned and dangerous items policy. Ensure that ward duties for all patients are allocated in a fiar and just manner. Ensure appropriate budget is effectively managed to ensure patients receive agreed recompense for completion of ward tasks. Completing payment authorisation forms as required.
