Summary

Job Title: Female Personal Assistant
Location: Crawley
Hourly rate: £10.42

Hours/shifts: 6 hours per week. Monday – Friday 4-5pm 3 days per week and 4-5:30 pm 2 days per week.

Summary –

Our daughter is a bubbly 11-year-old. She loves her pets and enjoys reading, arts and crafts, baking and music. She is mobility impaired and wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy. Although shy at first, she will warm up to the individual and become very fond of the person.
We are looking for an energetic, motivated individual to support her to get ready for school in the morning, including helping to get her to get washed and dressed and support with breakfast. The option of school transfers are available in Wheelchair adaptive vehicle.
This is a rewarding role for the right applicant. Training is provided, and one of us is always there to supervise our staff.
Other Requirements
• "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9."
• Must be comfortable with pets
• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.
• Must have a UK driving licence
• Other : option to do school drop-off available

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
Description
Typical duties
Domestic -
Preparing drinks, snacks ( school lunch bag ) and breakfast.
Use of medical equipment ie: stairlift, sara steady and Mo lift and occasionally hoisting

Personal Care:
• Supervision and/or assistance with washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• General hair/skin care
• Using the toilet
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Assistance with medication i.e. dispensing, administering and/or prompting
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, supervision whilst eating.
• Person specification
The successful applicant will be:
• Female * due to personal care needs
• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
• Reliable with good time-keeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest and cheerful
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
