We are therefore looking for an M&A Manager on a 12-month FTC, with potential to be permanent should we achieve our growth ambitions.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain further exposure to the entire deal process end to end. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing all aspects of the company's acquisition activities including building the pipeline of potential deals and the valuation analysis and negotiation, through to managing due diligence workstreams and liaising with the mobilisation team and all internal functions to ensure a successful integration.

Working closely with our C-Suite, the M&A Manager will be pivotal in us achieving our growth ambitions. This role will be responsible for leading and executing all aspects of the company's acquisition activities and ensuring M&A processes are moved forwards in a timely fashion. Other responsibilities will include;

  • Build a pipeline of potential acquisition targets and negotiate acquisition deals.
  • Lead due diligence efforts to assess the financial and operational viability of prospective acquisitions. Consolidate and review due diligence materials, ensuring that key risks are understood and addressed.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with external partners, advisors and stakeholders to fully execute transactions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations with strategic recommendations to board members and investors.
  • Work with members of senior management teams to gain alignment and support for M&A activity and ensure that all aspects of the acquisition are successfully completed.
  • Manage the overall process and timing for M&A integration activities, conducting regular meetings, monitoring status and driving proactive escalation/resolution of issues and dependencies all across the entire process.
  • Support post-acquisition integration efforts, including developing integration plans and tracking integration milestones.
  • Support Arcus and the target Company leadership team in developing and executing change and communication activities to effectively manage change.
  • Develop and manage acquisition budget and monitor expenditures to ensure that they remain within prescribed, budgetary limits.
  • Provide support on project management of related or other strategic projects.

Travel will be required to meet vendors and advisors across the UK, as well as travel to our office locations in London and the Midlands, otherwise the role can work remotely.

You will be analytically minded with an exceptional attention to detail, coupled with excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills. Ideally you will bring FM experience and/or have some due diligence experience and exposure to sale processes. But we're mostly looking for your commitment to deliver and succeed. Other requirements include;

  • Experience preferably in FM, technology or services sectors. Exposure to working in a PE backed environment an advantage
  • Background in consulting or equivalent Corporate Strategy and Development roles with hands-on experience in Mergers & Acquisitions including due diligence, valuation and/or negotiation
  • Degree level education and ideally Project Management certification e.g. six sigma, Prince 2.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to develop project plans and independently manage project execution
  • Strong communication at all levels, from Board members and C-suite to operating team members
  • High energy, positive attitude and motivation
