Are you an experienced Vet looking for a new challenge? Our hugely successful and established client in Leicestershire is seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join their team in a non-client facing graduate mentor role. You will be working with a large team consisting of 7 Vets and an experienced nursing team including 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Veterinary Care Assistants and 7 Receptionists and a Clinical Practice Manager.

You will be responsible for enabling the business to operate effectively on a day-to-day basis and most importantly will be able to manage, encourage and motivate the veterinary graduate team. You will be effectively managing the graduate vets to enable the delivery of professional animal healthcare services, and supporting the Practice Owners with the day-to-day management of the practice. This is a non-client facing role and they are looking for a Vet with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in small animals with a strong surgical knowledge, preferably with previous VetGDP training and experience developing new graduates.

You will work with modern state of the art equipment including modern veterinary equipment for surgery including orthopaedic, soft tissue, digital x-ray, ultrasound, IDEXX blood machines and dental x-ray. The practice has a large waiting room area, seven consult rooms with phones in all, a rainbow bridge room for euthanasia, a large prep area, two separate sterile theatres, separate dog, cat, isolation and exotic wards, a dental theatre and a wet room for potential physiotherapy and hydrotherapy in the future. Orthopaedic surgeries are done routinely in-house. The team has excellent diary management. Consults are 15-30 mins with every fourth slot blocked out for calls and catch-up. A prep vet is responsible for the smooth running of theatre cases and work-ups handed over from the consulting vets.

The practice is based on the outskirts of Leicester, with easy access from the M1 and M69. Whether you prefer city or rural life in your free time, Leicester has plenty of variety with the city centre a 15 minute drive and Fosse Park shopping centre a quick walk from the practice, and nice rural living areas close by.
