Summary

This is a key role in ensuring data integrity within our core IT systems and provide support and training to users of the University’s Research Information System (RIS), which underpins the delivery of our ambitious strategic research growth aspirations.

As well as supporting the development of the RIS Roadmap, ensuring close collaboration and effective business partnering arrangements and systems are in place with core suppliers, our Digital Technology Services, IT delivery partners, Faculty and Professional Services teams and RIS users is key to the delivery of these ambitions – including the timely resolution of any data integrity, system access or information processing issues to enable the effective transfer and recording of accurate research data in MI reports, linked IT systems and external websites.

A key focus for the role will be on benefits realisation: ensuring that our research systems are configured to support and enable research activity, are an integral part of our core processes and can be adapted to support future requirements. In parallel to this, the role holder will also play a pivotal role in maintaining and utilising research data assets to support performance management, reporting and business planning activities, whilst ensuring data integrity and compliance with university policies and statutory requirements.

In addition, as a member of the Research Systems and Business Improvement team, the role holder will act as a point of contact for the resolution of complex queries regarding RIS from across the research community, ensure appropriate research management systems and processes are in place to support the timely coding of awards and the delivery of strategic university objectives and that stakeholder engagement, communications and user testing is central to the successful launch and implementation of new business change initiatives and core system developments.
