Summary

The Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist College in Godstone, Surrey. We focus on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and make dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.

Set up by musician and songwriter Sir Richard Stilgoe, Orpheus offers learning, supported housing and personal care all on the same site in Godstone, Surrey. We showcase what Orpheus students can offer in the workplace and we challenge the barriers to employment faced by some disabled people.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, skilled and experienced Estates Administrator who is computer literate and able to take the initiative when required and support all members of the Estates/Facilities team in a range of tasks

This role is crucial to the smooth running of the Estates/Facilities team and will provide effective administration and organisation on a day to day basis, collating information and data and supporting managers within the department.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
(hours may be altered on occasions according to the needs of the curriculum and organisation)

Salary: £21,840 per annum

Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience:

* 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C or above including Maths and English Language
* Minimum of two years’ experience of working in an administration role
* Experienced user of MS Office packages, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
* Understanding of effective utilisation of resources
* Awareness of health and safety legislation and good practices
* Knowledge of MIS
* Excellent computer literacy and administrative skills
* Drive to achieve results – sets own standards, checks own work and demonstrates a positive approach
* Pro-active approach to problem solving

Experience of liaising with local authorities and supporting people with housing related administration, such as tenancy agreements and housing benefit applications is desirable but not essential.
