Summary
The role is to develop and implement an effective community engagement strategy and to become involved at a crucial stage in the development of our community café and newly refurbished IT suite.
The key responsibilities of the Community Engagement Worker will be to connect local people to the Chase Neighbourhood Centre. It will be important to engage those individuals and families that have had little or previously no interaction with more formal services and encourage their involvement. The role will raise awareness of the benefits to the individual, the family and community of the services offered to ensure that it remains fully accessible to everyone. This will include organising community events and supporting locally based staff and organisations to take forward new community-led local initiatives.
You will develop strong networks and links between community groups, organisations and families and will co-ordinate engagement activities and devise and implement action plans.
You must be a people focused person, self-motivated and a have a thorough understanding of equal opportunities and diversity as well as a proven track record of establishing strong professional working relationships at all levels. Excellent communicational and organisational skills are essential elements of this role.
