YMCA supported accommodation in Fleetwood offers semi independent accommodation to children and young people aged 16-25. This accommodation is subject to OFSTED regulation.

As a Support Worker what does the role entail:

Your day will consist of …
• Working within our accommodation team to provide a high-quality person-centred service to our young people.
• Follow the process to accept new residents into their home.
• To conduct comprehensive Risk Assessments and Risk Management Plans with applicants and service users.
• To develop a personalised support plan with SMART targets using self assessment tools preparing them to move on to independence.
• Empower service users to attend support sessions to develop skills in individual areas as defined within self-assessment of needs and support plans.
• Promote access to learning and employability opportunities to support residents to achieve their full potential.
• Facilitate group resident meetings designed to ensure that our service is user led and community focused.
• Assist when necessary with Health and Safety and Fire Safety Checks within the scheme.
• Assist with general cleaning duties to ensure a high standard within the scheme.
• Assist with Pre-Lets on Flats to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
• Maintain records that are necessary for compliance and the smooth operation of the scheme.

This job is for you, if…
• You have experience working with vulnerable young people preferably within a Supported Housing Setting
• Educated to NVQ Level 3 in Housing, Health and social care or other relevant subject
• Fully I.T literate in all Microsoft Packages
• Strong Communication and relationship building skills
• Willingness to adopt a trauma informed approach/environment
• You are a resilient and confident team worker who can work on their own initiative or work as part of a team.
• You can work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.

Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
