About Us: My client, a leading Tier 1 contractor, is at the forefront of delivering innovative and complex projects within the construction and infrastructure sector. With a strong commitment to excellence and a rich history of successful project delivery, are currently seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor.

Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our major NEC railway infrastructure project valued at £1 billion. This project is a key component of the nation's railway network, and your expertise will be crucial in ensuring its efficient and cost-effective delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Management and Issuing of Notices and Correspondence:

    • Inputting to the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence related to project requirements.
  2. Preparation and Assessment:

    • Preparation or assessment of applications, valuations, cost/value reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  3. Cost Control and Forecasting:

    • Implement cost control measures and forecasting techniques to monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
    • Prepare and provide input to monthly reports including value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budget.
  4. Contract Management:

    • Manage all aspects of contracts, including relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control, and utilisation of relevant software applications.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
  5. Risk and Value Management:

    • Assist with Risk and Value Management to optimise project solutions.
    • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks, collaborating with the project team.
  6. Supply Chain Management:

    • Prepare supply chain enquiries, negotiate, administer, and finalise/close out supply chain contracts in accordance with project requirements.
  7. Payment Processing:

    • Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or assessment and preparation of payment certificates.
    • Ensure all notifications/documents are managed in accordance with the contract and company policy.
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree Qualified
  • Proven experience as Quantity Surveyor on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within the railway sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts and their application.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
