Summary

Kajima Community manages the sports and social facilities at Caroline Chisholm School for 'community use' outside of normal school hours. Our Monday to Friday evening bookings mostly consist of sporting activities such as football, badminton, martial arts, and exercise classes using the sports facilities and halls. At the weekends, we also have supplementary schools using the classrooms.

Our core opening hours are Mon-Fri, 4:30pm-10pm and 8am-3pm on Saturdays & Sundays. We often open later on Saturday evenings to accommodate social events in our halls.

It is important to note that the primary use of the building is a school. Therefore, our main aim is that whilst we provide the letting service to the local community, there should be no evidence of community use following our lettings periods, to minimise any impact on education.

The successful candidate would be expected to work at least 15 hours per week on a two-week rota with a regular shift pattern. There may be the opportunity to work additional hours during the weekends for events. Sometimes weekday day shifts during the school holidays might be available to accommodate our holiday camps. Covering shifts for other members of staff may also be required.

There will be elements of lone working, cleaning, safeguarding, and building security as well as providing a high level of customer service. The candidate will also be required to physically set up and clear away equipment such as goals, nets, and mats.

We are looking for a trustworthy candidate who will ideally have at least five years operational keyholder experience within the leisure industry or similar.

Duties will include:

Customer service - Meeting and greeting community users at reception and being the central point of contact for any queries or concerns they may have whilst they are onsite.
Building security - Ensuring that all entrances and exits remain secure and that access to the facilities is only granted to hirers and their activity participants. This will also include the secure vacation of the premises at the end of the community lettings period, ensuring all lights are switched off, doors and windows are locked, and alarms are set.
Equipment set up and clear away - Ensuring equipment/furniture are returned to their original position following community use.
Cleaning - Ensuring that the cleanliness of buildings and its exterior grounds are carried out in accordance with Kajima's high standards following community use. This will include cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, toilet cleaning and litter picking.
Additional responsibilities:

Junior staff supervision.
Following procedure in emergency situations (fire/lockdown/first aid).
Reporting booking discrepancies.
Identifying potential damage or safety concerns that could be attributed to 3rd party usage.
Reporting building defects.
Reporting safeguarding concerns.
Monitoring of the car park and overflow car parks during periods of peak footfall.
Full training will be provided.

The successful applicant will undertake an enhanced DBS check before working unsupervised.
