Delivering what we promise
The MWS Scotland region currently delivers a number of frameworks for Scottish Water, including the Infrastructure Capital programme and the MEICA replacement operational alliance DV2 Lot 4 (this role). In addition, IDS deliver further specialist frameworks for Scottish Water as well for a portfolio of non-regulated clients. The business is currently at c. £130m p.a with further growth planned.
The DV2 Lot 4 MEICA replacement framework is a 6-year programme (2021-2027) with an option to extend for a further 6 years. The contract delivers a diverse range of design & construction projects (£100k - £4m) including the replacement of MEICA equipment, associated civil engineering works, specialist control & automation, SCADA and telemetry works. Annual volume £25m-£40m.
Morrison Water Services Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Site Manager to work on our Scottish Water DV2 Framework working across a wide portfolio of projects. The role is based on site reporting to the Project Manager and will involve travel as needed.
As a Site Manager you will be part of our Operations Team who are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our wastewater and water infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

The Site Manager will be responsible for safe delivery of the project whilst achieving commercial expectations. A key part of the role will be establishing a strong relationship with Scottish Water and their Stakeholders at Site and Project level.
This new position is a Scotland based role.
As the Site Manager your duties & responsibilities will include:

- Accountable for the management and site supervision of site teams on water and wastewater capital maintenance upgrades
- Ensure sites are compliant with company SHEQ policy and procedure and drive a strong Health & Safety and quality focus culture
- Undertaking site safety audits including subcontractors
- Thorough understanding of the project commercial position and efficiency targets and ensure that project costs are recorded and utilised efficiently
- Identifying areas where the client should be made aware of issues through the EWN system
- Ensure that materials have been procured and delivered and labour has been planned in accordance with construction programme
- Close relationships and interfaces with the office team and project managers
- Accountable for a high standard of site H&S paperwork and ensuring CDM principle contractor obligations and duties are adhered to on site
- A focus on continued improvement in all SHEQ areas
- Ensuring all site returns are recorded and reported into the management team
- Liaison with the project teams to feedback on milestones and issues that arise and/or ensure that the teams on site contact the project teams
- Manage subcontract packages of work and ensure sub-contractor construction programme are adhered to, identifying and reporting areas of concern/delay.
- Management of private land access and highway possessions
- Manage work fronts in local communities and ensure a positive approach to dealing with members of the public

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

- Civil engineering degree or similar qualification
- Management experience within the construction industry
- Current Driving Licence
- Appropriate level of IT skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence
- SHEA Water - preferred
