Summary
You will be required to build and maintain positive, motivating relationships with our clients while fostering the inclusive, welcoming environment that is the foundation of everything we do with our customers.
Key Responsiblities
· To complete the necessary course to become fully qualified as a Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer within the agreed timeframe;
· To assist the Head of Business Servicers and Operations and the Head of Volunteering & Health contracts with admin tasks involving the exercise referral programme, data maintenance and reporting;
· To perform gym inductions for new clients covering basic equipment usage and health and safety obligations;
· To assist clients within the general population with their exercise programmes and by offering advice on the gym floor;
· To run / assist our special populations instructors during referral classes, depending on your qualifications;
· To run / assist during referral follow-on classes, depending on your qualifications;
· To write gym programmes;
· To work flexibly to cover holiday and sickness.
General
· To ensure appropriate communication at all times;
· Work as part of the team and take on duties as directed to ensure the efficient running of the Health and Fitness department;
· Build effective working relationships across all areas of the business;
· Provide project support and lead on agreed projects;
· Support the continuous improvement of Health and Fitness systems and practices;
· Employees: You have a duty to take care of your own health and safety and that of others. Co-operation with your employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements;
· Supervisors/Managers: You have a duty to take care of your own health and safety and protect the health, safety and welfare of your employees and others.
Training
You will achieve the Level 3 Personal Trainer apprenticeship. You will attend college workshops once every week, and have the support of an assessor in the workplace.
Qualifications required
Maths and English grade 4 or equivalent.Ideally hold a level 2 PT qualification
Skills required
Able to work within scope of practice to see what work needs completing, and take initiative to get the job done.
Able to work towards a given goal to complete tasks independently.
Drive to improve performance and deliver outstanding results through new, innovative ways of working.
Able to work within scope of practice to see what work needs completing, and take initiative to get the job done.
Prospects
Progression into employment if applicable and future training.
