Summary

2nd Line Support Analyst | Peterborough | Full Time | £28,000 - £35,000 pa

Our clients company is a growing Managed Service Provider supporting customers locally and in the London area. They currently support customers ranging between 10 and 3000 staff using a large range of technologies and solutions. Their main business activities include IT support, consultancy, system design, telecoms, and fully managed IT services.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced hands-on 2nd line support engineer keen to develop and learn new skills whilst supporting their valued customers. You will be given the opportunity to work alongside their consultants to configure and install new IT systems helping with your support development.

The role is very diverse, so applicants must be confident on desktop, network and server support, virtualisation technologies as well as Office 365.

Please note- Occasional weekend and evening working is expected as standard from their clients and must be covered by all staff on a rota basis.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Clean UK Driving licence
• Enthusiastic individual with a minimum of 4 years 2nd line support experience wishing to build and expand their technical skills
• Previous exposer to different types of hardware including printers, mobile devices, servers, and network equipment
• Strong knowledge of Windows server (2016, 2019, 2022)
• Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange experience
• Knowledge of networking technologies including VLAN’s, routing protocols, VPN’s, firewalls, DHCP, DNS and switch configuration
• Experience and understanding of backup solutions and day-to-day management
• The ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload including support cases
• Microsoft 365 experience including exchange online setup, SharePoint data structure and MDM
• Logical and methodical troubleshooting skills
• Experience in supporting VOIP solutions
• PowerShell knowledge especially around Microsoft 365 and Azure
• Strong Ability to communicate well with other people
• Good timekeeping and self-management skills
• Ability to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines
• Able to create detailed documentation

What will your role look like?

• Provide service quality and security assessment of all support resolutions provided as system protection and security are essential for all clients
• Work on support contracts, system builds and ad-hoc support which requires strong discovery and diagnostic skills
• Work with our clients remotely and on-site
• Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot a basic network with multiple VLAN’s, virtualised servers and client device issues including Microsoft 365 connectivity
