We are delighted to announce a call for applicants for the post of ST3+ Trust Grade Doctor (SPR Level) working at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), Queen Square, London and at UCH, Euston Road, London.

The Comprehensive Stroke Service is one of the largest stroke services in the United Kingdom. We provide 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy, host a 7/7 Acute Neurovascular Clinic (covering urgent reviews and TIA), and have a unified hyperacute and acute stroke unit ward structure. We provide a wide range of general stroke and specialist stroke (ICH, CAA, Moyamoya, Young Adult Stroke) clinics and run joint MDT with cardiology, ophthalmology, haematology, and neurosurgery partners each month. We host the north London pre-hospital stroke video assessment pathway and run 24/7 pre-hospital video triage of possible stroke in this region. We are a NIHR designated hyperacute stroke research centre and have an active and dynamic teaching programme.

We are looking for applicants to join our team to help us to deliver this range of services. The successful applicant will rotate through each of the core and specialist stroke roles within our team and will participate in our governance and teaching programme.

The post holder will have the same educational opportunities and clinical and educational supervision arrangements as the other stroke SpRs with NTNs. The posts provide an excellent training in all aspects of state of the art management of pre-hospital, in-hospital and post-hospital care of stroke and stroke mimics and excellent opportunities for service development and clinical research career development.

Across the wider National Hospital for Neurology there is also a unique opportunity to observe specialist neurological clinics and gain experience of best practice care for acute and chronic neurological conditions.
