Summary

A Vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.


Within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department, the post holder will be working as part of a team looking after a combination of trauma and elective patients, within a number of sub-specialties, including Hands, Shoulder & Elbow, Hip & Knee, and Foot & Ankle.

This is an opportunity to work at a registrar level doctor covering consultant firms and their elective practice coupled with the on-call duties of supervising junior doctors providing clinical care for patients and operating on trauma and elective admissions as necessary.

Chelsea and Westminster is a centre of excellence for Orthopaedic Sports Surgery. Several surgeons manage professional and semi-professional athletes which have unique problems and pressures.

The appointee will be scheduled for non-resident on calls duties on the middle tier rota, which are currently shared between 9 doctors, supervising ward rounds, attending sub-speciality clinics and will be exposed to complex, high volume theatre activity.

Ideally the candidate will be able to practise under distant supervision in clinic once comfortable so there is plenty of scope to grow into the roles.

The Department has established working links with Imperial College NHS Trust which is our Major Trauma Centre and our sister site West Middlesex university Trust

Senior Clinical Fellows in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery

We have an exciting opportunity available to complement our dynamic Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital site. Currently the team consists of 11 Consultants, 6 Specialist trainee Registrars, 2 Specialty Trust Registrars, 1 Core Trainees, 7 Junior Clinical Fellows, 3 FY doctors, 1 Orthopaedic Nurse specialist and a Specialist Trauma Nurse.

The successful candidate will work with established Consultants who are able to train in Elective Upper or Lower Limb surgery and specialised Trauma.
