We seek an enthusiastic, experienced team player to join our award-winning academic department for a period of 6 months from August 2024, possibility of further extension for an additional 6 months.. The successful candidate will join a busy, thriving department that is forward looking and innovative. We are the sector leaders in many aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology practice. Candidates must have 12 months or more registrar-level experience in UK obstetric practice.

The successful candidate will carry out clinical duties within all areas of the obstetrics and gynaecology department. When on call the post holder will be on the three-tier rota covering obstetrics and gynaecology in a 1:8 on out of hours call frequency as the Specialist Registrar. A Specialty Trainee ST3-7 and Speciality Trainee ST1-2 also cover out of hours alongside the Specialist Registrar.

The appointee will also be expected to see patients under consultant supervision in the outpatient clinics including the one-stop scan clinics, specialist gynaecology clinics and the early pregnancy/acute gynaecology unit. There will also be opportunities to complete the intermediate gynaecology ultrasound scanning and hysteroscopy modules. Partake in elective obstetric procedures and general gynaecological surgery including the day case and inpatient elective surgery.

It is expected that the successful candidate will undertake clinical audits and undertake quality improvement projects (QIP) under consultant supervision. The Chelsea Centre for Minimally Invasive Gynaecology is based in the department offering global training and tuition in endoscopic surgery, and successful candidates can join our courses, training and innovative programmes.
