We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Care Manager to join are dynamic and hard working, friendly team.
Job Description
As the Assistant Care Manager / Senior Care Practitioner, you will work alongside the Care Manager, assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the residential home, as well as supporting the needs of the residents.
The ideal candidate will have experience in caring for the elderly, person centred care, care planning, complaint procedures, supervisions, appraisals, disciplinary's, and have a sound knowledge of CIW inspections and Social Care Wales.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Care Manager, assisting in the daily operations of the home.
Assume additional responsibilities and leadership in the absence of the Care Manager.
Provide guidance and mentoring to other care practitioners.
Oversee staff training and orientation of new staff members.
Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure that care services meet the established standards and regulations.
Identify areas of improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Be an advocate for residents’ rights, ensuring that their preferences and choices are respected,
Addressing any concerns or complaints from residents and their families.
Maintaining open and effective communications with residents, families,
and the care team
Administer medication and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
Document residents’ care activities in care records.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement resident care plans.
Attend to all residents’ personal care when needed.
Monitor health and wellbeing of all residents.
Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents.

These responsibilities can vary depending on the specific policies and procedures of the residential home and the needs of residents it serves. The Assistant Care Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Care Manager and ensuring that residents receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent desirable but willing to accept applicants who hold a Level 3 with significant experience as a Senior Care Practitioner in health and social care and/or previously worked within an Assistant Care Manager role. (Must be motivated and willing to commence NVQ Level 4)
Registered with social care Wales.
