What You’ll Do:

Be a point of contact with Greensleeves Care’s legal firm on governance issues
Alongside the Chief Executive, Director of HR and Company Secretariat, be a point of contact for the Charity Commission and Companies House including filing all statutory returns.
To ensure there is a strong governance framework in place to ensure Greensleeves Care complies with all legal, statutory and regulatory standards and operates with openness, integrity and accountability.
With the Chief Executive and Director of HR and Company Secretariat, be responsible for managing any changes needed to Greensleeves Care’s governing documents, taking legal advice as required.
To ensure all governance and compliance policies are kept under regular review, updated as required and communicated effectively.
Work with the Chief Executive, Director of HR and Company Secretariat to plan and manage the annual cycle of meetings of the Board and key committees.
Work with the Chief Executive, Director of HR and Company Secretariat, to prepare and agree appropriate forward plans and agendas to ensure that agendas are balanced across the year and cover all matters of strategic importance as required by the relevant terms of reference
To work responsively with the SMT, Board and related Committees to maximize their ability to contribute to meetings and ensure their decisions are well informed and realized.
To establish and regularly review governance policies and procedures to ensure strong decision making across the Trust.
Support the various Chairs to ensure meetings operate well, take formal minutes, maintain a log of key decisions and produce action lists, track actions arising and ensure follow-up is actioned.
Lead and be responsible for the management of Away Days and any other meetings on behalf of the Chief Executive.
Lead on the implementation of the Register of Interests and governance of conflicts of interest through Greensleeves Care’s Declaration of Interest policy and procedure

What you will need to succeed in this role

Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Knowledge of charity law or understanding of charity governance
Significant experience in a similar role in a committee-based governance structure
Experience of working alongside and supporting non-executive role holders
Awareness of the function of HR and recruitment in relation to good governance and compliance with no experience as full training is provided
Demonstrate a commitment to and the ability to role model our values
Committed to learning and professional CPD
Ability to draft policies and procedures
Great attention to detail and prepared to work flexibly in response to changing business needs
Ability to write reports and minutes.
Excellent skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
