Summary


Senior Research Management and Governance Facilitator

Applications are invited from individuals with an expert research governance background and sound knowledge of clinical research management to join the Joint Research Management Office (JRMO). The JRMO is a joint office which manages clinical research on behalf of Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University London (QMUL). This is a very busy department within the JRMO working with our researchers to ensure the Research Management and governance objectives of both organisations are met. This is a new role within the JRMO. The post holder will support and deputise for the Research Governance and Performance Manager to lead and manage the governance team and co-ordinate all systems and processes ensuring that studies are approved for sponsorship and gain permission through the regulatory bodies.

The successful applicant will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and have substantial R&D and staff management experience. You will have experience of clinical trials in the life science sector and have a thorough knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting and sponsoring clinical research studies, including Good Clinical Practice. Knowledge of current national systems and structures for the approval, management and monitoring of clinical research in the NHS is essential as are excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and reports to a high standard.

The post is full-time Starting salary (NHS Band 6) will be in the range £35,392 - £42,618 per annum exclusive of London Allowance.

The post is based at the Joint Research Management Office, Queen Mary University of London, Whitechapel campus.
