Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Service Division for a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our forward-thinking, dynamic, patient-focused, supportive and dedicated Breast Care team. You will share our vision to help make a real difference to patient care and support our patients and their families from diagnosis, through treatment with breast cancer and throughout their cancer journey.

You will be involved in the case management of patients on a breast cancer pathway including support for those with metastatic breast cancer. You must be able to demonstrate a good level of enquiry, excellent communication and organisational skills. You must have experience of working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise your workload. You should have a first degree and be committed to undertaking further study to maximise your knowledge and skills.

With a drive for innovation, specialist nursing care and as an integral member of this multidisciplinary team, you will be instrumental in the implementation of key aspects of the Personalised Care Agenda. The role will also involve Macmillan electronic holistic assessments to create patient focussed care plans for our Breast Cancer patients.



To support the provision of a specialist Breast Cancer Nursing Service within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The Breast Care Nurse (BCN) is a member of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) providing a service to patients diagnosed with breast cancer, metastatic breast cancer, and those with suspected breast cancer.

This role involves providing a service to patients with breast cancer, and includes screening patients, care of those with suspected breast cancer and support of patients from the time of diagnosis, throughout their treatment and beyond.
