Summary

S W Watson & Son Ltd in Preston are recruiting for an Apprentice Level 2 Furniture CNC Specialist. The successful candidate will work towards their Level 2 Furniture Occupations which will take approximately 24 months to complete.

Duties:
- Measuring and feeding batches of raw materials into production machinery
- Operating CNC equipment. Training provided.
- Assembling products.
- Reporting equipment faults to supervision.
- Finishing products, for example cleaning ready for packing.
- Using lifting equipment like pump trucks and forklift trucks, if you have a fork lift truck licence.
- Packing goods ready for shipment.
- Cleaning and basic maintenance in work areas and machinery.
- You'll usually work as part of a team under the supervision leader, carrying out several tasks within the same shift.

Requirements:
-Good practical skills.
-The ability to work quickly and methodically.
-The ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks.
-The ability to follow instructions.

Your main place of work is within the factory. You may spend a lot of your time standing while operating machinery or workbench or assembly line.
You will need to wear protective clothing, like overalls and safety shoes. Safety Shoes to be provided by yourself. All other necessary PPE to be provided by the company.

Grades:
There are no formal qualifications required.

Hours:
Monday - Thursday 7:20am - 16:45pm, Friday - 7:20 - 14:20pm. Mon-Thurs = 2 x 10 min & 1 x 40 mins Fri = 2 x 20 mins unpaid. 40 hours per week
