Our client, a reputable, independent veterinary practice, is seeking a dedicated Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their dynamic team. You will have the opportunity to work in a purpose-built Practice located in a picturesque market town on the outskirts of York, with the stunning Howardian Hills and North Yorkshire Moors right at your doorstep.

As a Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you will be an integral part of the team, handling a very varied caseload. Your primary focus will be on the large and expanding farm client base, providing regular routine fertility visits and herd health planning for both cattle and sheep. The role allows for flexibility and can be tailored to accommodate your specific areas of enthusiasm on a daily basis. It is essential that you are willing to deal with all species out of hours, ensuring comprehensive veterinary care is available to all clients at all times.

You will be supported by a team of experienced clinicians, certificate holders, and diploma holders, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment. The practice itself has a team of 20 vets, including mixed vets, dedicated small animal vets, poultry and pig vets, and ruminant vets. This diverse team ensures that the practice can meet the unique requirements of all clients effectively.

The purpose-built Practice boasts three consult rooms, a large operating theatre, a busy prep area, and separate kennels for dogs and cats. Additionally, there is a designated room for radiography and ultrasound scanning, equipped with modern diagnostic tools to provide the best possible care.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a few years' experience under their belt, be a proactive and dedicated individual with a proactive approach to veterinary care. As a Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you should possess the necessary qualifications and experience to handle a varied caseload effectively.

The Rota:
• Full time role
• Duty rota - includes both first and second call and is shared evenly between 12 vets
• OOH rota - 2 vets on call, shared equally amongst 12 vets allowing a 1:6 pattern
• Working pattern includes both half days and full days with TOIL for on call duties
• Occasional Saturday mornings
