Summary
We are recruiting a Pig Farm Stockperson to join a pig unit in North Yorkshire (DL2).
The commercial breeding unit comprises 650 indoor sows farrow to finish, with 2000 indoor finishers on site and 1300 on another site. All sows are slatted, on wet feed and dry home mill and mix. Sows are kept on straw; some are fed wet, and some are dry-fed. Sows are scraped out twice a week.
Job Description:
Looking after predominately the growers and finishers
Loading the fat wagon (sometimes early starts)
Pressure washing of grower and finisher buildings
Maintenance work (as required)
Some tractor work (training offered)
Using wet feed systems (training provided)
Salary (doe): £12 per hour (up to 40 hrs/week), £16 per hour overtime
Plus:
21 days plus bank holidays
Usual pension contributions
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, 1 hour for lunch, plus weekends if needed (only if other staff are off).
