Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Connect North West Team based in Gemini Warrington which provides an urgent and non-urgent Neonatal Transport for the North West region and North Wales.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our friendly team as a Cot Bureau Operative. You must be an excellent
communicator, organised and able to use your own initiative. The successful candidate will have the ability to work well under pressure and be part of a multi- disciplinary team. As a Cot Bureau Operative, you will join a 24-hour administrative service on a rotational basis. As well as working days, you will be required to work nights and weekends. The shift pattern is 8am - 8pm and 8pm - 8am and in general this is a self-rostering rota within your team. The salary has enhancements paid for weekend and night-time
shifts.
You will work alongside the Neonatal Transport Team and St John Ambulance to ensure all calls are logged and patients prioritised accordingly. The transport service is responsible for moving babies between different hospitals who require intensive care or specialist treatment and arranges maternal transfers with complications in pregnancy.

To act as the first point of contact for the referral hotline, liaising with the transport team to assist in organising maternal and newborn infant transfers.
Undertaking regular telephone contact with Neonatal Units across the North West and North Wales region to determine their cot occupancy and staffing, and to log this within an electronic database.
To ensure that patients are referred to the correct unit, you will locate the most appropriate hospital, using the correct pathways and ensuring a comprehensive and accurate record of all communication.
To liaise with clinicians from relevant specialties and facilitate conference calling for complex referrals.
To undertake other administrative duties as required, using your good knowledge of Microsoft packages, and I.T. skills to support the work of the transport service.
Welcome and assist in the training of new members to the team.
