Summary


Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement initiatives. They will ensure the systematic implementation and monitoring of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS processes, providing expert practice, leadership, and partnership working. The will provide key services in support of vulnerabilities such as domestic violence, mental healthm dementia and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert guidance and support in the implementation and monitoring of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards processes.
• Deliver high-quality clinical presence, training, and development programs to enhance staff competence in areas related to the Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, and Liberty Protection Safeguards.
• Support compliance with statutory duties outlined within the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2007), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2007), and associated legal frameworks.
• Collate evidence and support monitoring of Trust compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and regulatory and commissioning contractual requirements.
• Quantify requirements and prepare the Trust for the implementation of Liberty Protection Safeguards.
