Summary


A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Urogynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The ideal candidate will have previous Gynaecology experience and a commitment to women's health, be enthusiastic, highly motivated and willing to support the provision of the highest quality patient care.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the aptitude to work at a senior level and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care, though training and career progression opportunities will be provided and supported.

Working closely with our clinical leads, the primary responsibility of the Urogynaecology Nurse is to provide best practice care to a specific group of patients, ensuring a positive patient experience.

While in the role of Urogynaecology Nurse the post holder will act as the principal point of contact between all members of the multidisciplinary team. In addition, you will work independently when making clinical assessments of patients' conditions and performing physical examinations, and procedures and techniques in accordance with established policies and procedures. .

For the right candidates we will consider job share or secondment and also some flexibility in working patterns around service need.

The Women’s and Children’s Division provides care to the population of North Nottinghamshire and manages patient services in both Kings Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital. The urogynaecology service is delivered in both these hospitals.

As Clinical Nurse Specialist, the primary purpose of this role is to perform specific technological procedure/s e.g. urodynamics in a defined service user group and advanced assessment and clinical decision making in a broad service user group. Undertake nurse led outpatient urodynamic and pessary fitting clinics and manage own clinical workload.

The role requires managing a defined caseload, activity to include assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment within defined protocols and training. Provide immediate care management of patient including communication of plan to service users and significant others. Review and refer to appropriate person, e.g. registrar or consultant.

We also expect a contribution to specialist education and training to ward departmental staff, nursing and medical students.
