About the service user
A 14-year-old boy with additional needs. O is non-verbal, has autism and is globally developmentally delayed. He has a contagious laugh and enjoys trips out to the park on the swing and slide and loves a water park and theme park rides. He likes swimming and is a sweet boy.
Hours and rate of Pay
£12 per hour. Flexible working hours to be discussed and agreed, likely pattern isTerm Time: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 7.30am to 8.30am, Thursday 4pm to 7pm, occasional weekend days. Holidays: Occasional day time support to go out to activities and possibly holiday club. Fuel cost will be paid.
What you would be doing
Os support is 2:1 so you will be working alongside a colleague. Morning: Support getting up, getting dressed, personal care, support with breakfast and vitamin supplements. Evening/after school: Personal care, support with dinner, going for a walk, out to the park, giving a bath, giving medication
The person I would like
A mature natured person who is ok with pets and has a kind and friendly nature. Someone with patience and enthusiasm is a must. Experience with non-verbal children and autism would be an advantage. An up to date enhanced DBS is required. O has the benefit a smoke free environment.
