**Support Worker, Cambridge CB2**
**£11.44 - £14 per hour depending on experience**
Im looking for an energetic and caring person who loves spending time with children, and can build a positive relationship with my daughter. The person also needs to be kind but able to be very firm, as my daughter can be very determined and needs close supervision at all times.
7 to 8 hours per month worked as 2 weekend afternoons (1.30pm 5/5.30pm / 2pm 5.30/6pm) £11.44 - £14 per hour depending on experienceExperience working with children essential
Experience working with children or adults with disabilities desirableFull driving licence desirable, as this increases the opportunities for a range of activities
A is 7 years old and has Downs Syndrome. She enjoys being outdoors for example at the park, riding her bike or scooter, and playing football. She also loves music and singing, baking, and playing games. She is chatty, sociable and curious about the world. She loves to make people laugh, and can also be very caring towards others. She is able to walk, run and climb, but does tire easily compared to a typically-developing child of her age. She can have a tendency to bolt, so its important to keep a close eye on her safety.Build trust and a professional relationship, plan and carry out engaging activities/trips. Support with toileting needed. Ideally most of the care would be outside of our home to enable me to rest. If/when worked on a Sunday afternoon, taking her to her disability football session and supporting her/participating alongside her. We have a blue disabled parking badge you can use, and A has National Trust membership with an essential companion card.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required. This is to check for any previous criminal records.All relevant training will be provided. This may be hoist safety, medication administering or food hygiene training as needed.
