About me
I am a 44-year-old man living in Cambridge CB2. I like DVD box sets and films. I enjoy reading, and in the past, I have spent time volunteering abroad in China and lived with a Masai tribe in Africa. I have a diagnosis of ASD and fibromyalgia, and I live with depression and anxiety. I have mobility issues and use a mobility scooter to access the community. I also have a diagnosis of diabetes and take insulin and monitor my blood sugar levels regularly. Its important for me to have continuity of regular and reliable worker/s to support me. I require support with personal care, prompting with medication, dressing/undressing and some domestic tasks.


Hours & Pay Rate
12.25 hours per week @ £14 per hour. Monday to Sunday - hours to be discussed but will be a morning for 1 hour and early evening call of 45 minutes each day. This may possibly suit a self-employed person/s or two workers. The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)An Enhanced DBS check will be required.


Main Duties
Support with personal care in a dignified manner, supporting me to prepare breakfast, and maintain a daily routine for the administering of medication, and remind me to check my blood sugar levels. Continence care needs - S is doubly incontinent and this forms a large part of his care needs. Support with everyday chores, laundry, maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard.


The person I would like
Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give me support with building my confidence and self-esteem and promoting my independence, and an understanding of supporting with personal care tasks. Some understanding of supporting people with ASD and mental health issues. Someone who is able to use their own initiative. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high-quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. Be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with a good sense of humour.
