About the service user
Support required for a 25 year old young man who is Autistic with Obsessive Compulsive Behaviours, M is not learning disabled. M is sound sensitive and wears ear defenders to help manage that.M is a brilliant artist and has a diploma in art and design, he is a grade 8 piano player and currently studying for a performance diploma.M likes being active and enjoys adventure golf, clip and climb, bowling and Ninja tag and musical theatre, he likes days out especially by train as he has a great interest in trains and buses and a fascination with lifts.
Hours and rate of Pay
7.5 hours per week @ £14.70 per hour (weekdays only)Enhanced DBS clearance is essential.What you would be doingYou will be supporting M to access some of the activities he enjoys you will be expected to take part in those activities too
The person I would like
It is essential you have experience of support others in the community and evidence a good understanding/knowledge of Autism and OCD and have a willingness to learn how to manage some of the behaviours those conditions can bring.You will need to be someone who likes being active as you will be participating in activities with M, you will need to be physically fit to keep up with him.It is important that you are focused, 100% attention is needed when supporting M.There is an expectation that you will be committed and willing to develop trust and understanding in the role.Someone who is reliable, has a calm, kind and quiet nature.
