An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.5 wte (18.75 hours per week) fixed term Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, to become part of the Universal and Targeted (U&T) Team within ABUHB. The post will be based in the Caerphilly Borough but working closely with colleagues across the U&T team.

You will be innovative and enthusiastic and be particularly interested in supporting evidence based practice and delivering services in the Early Years and Childcare Service to promote and improve the speech, language and communication needs of children. The SLT will support work in the strands of Flying Start (childcare, parenting, Health Visiting, Early Language Support), as well as supporting and developing the Flying Start expansion projects across the Local Authority.

You will be committed to partnership working with health and local authority colleagues. The post has a strong training element to plan, coordinate and deliver the Caerphilly Early Years SLC Training Pathway. Within the contracted hours, there will be a need for some flexibility in terms of providing one evening or one weekend option, or two evenings a week, to support training and developing the childcare workforce outside of core working hours.

The role will be operationally managed by the Local Authority leadership team and professional/clinical supervision will be provided from the ABUHB SLT service.  We offer you peer support, regular team meetings, with second opinions available from clinical leads.
