Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Procurement team at KMPT. Our team plays a pivotal role within the organisation, delivering ongoing cost efficiencies and wider benefits through our procurement activities, and by supporting effective contract management.

As a key part of the Procurement Team, you will contribute to the delivery of an effective, professional, and responsive procurement service, providing specialist procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders across corporate and clinical teams, and being responsible for the delivery of a programme of procurement processes.

We are committed to the training and development of our staff, and opportunities will be made available as part of the role. This may include CIPS, and other recognised qualifications.

Development Opportunity

This is a Band 5 role, and we are therefore keen to appoint someone who meets the essential/desirable criteria with relevant previous procurement experience. However, we would also consider appointing a candidate as a development opportunity to commence at a Band 4, progressing to a Band 5 within 12 months (subject to the achievement of set objectives). As a result, the Trust would be open to receiving applications from candidates who have transferable experience, skills, or knowledge, or who have undertaken a relevant degree. As part of your application, you should set out how your knowledge links to the essential criteria.

We enable the Trust to obtain value-for-money goods, services, and works from high-quality suppliers, delivering the best outcomes for our staff and patients whilst adhering to procurement legislation, internal policy, and best practice.

The main role purpose will be to deliver a programme of procurement processes for the Trust which will include quotations, tenders (low to medium value), and accessing framework agreements, ensuring that value for money is achieved and excellent patient care delivered. You will also support the team on more complex or high-value contracts.

In addition, you will work with the team to deliver fit-for-purpose contracts that support the Trust's vision and values and deliver annual cashable savings along with wider efficiencies and social value benefits. You will ensure that procurement processes are carried out in accordance with Legislation, internal policy, and best practice.

Come and work with us in the Garden of England where we combine exceptional professional development opportunities with a tremendous quality of life.

We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability and specialist services, serving 1.8 million people across the county.

The Trust (rated Good overall by the CQC and Outstanding for care) has 3,283 staff working in 66 buildings across 33 locations, covering an area of 1,450 square miles.

You will be joining friendly, passionate colleagues, rich in their diversity, who are committed to providing excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.

The nature of our work attracts kindness and compassion as standard and everyone from our cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman are recognised as playing a vital role in providing an exemplary service.
