Summary


We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 7 Clinical Psychologist or 3rdyear Trainee Clinical Psychologist qualifying in 2024, to join the well-established Brentwood Stroke Hub Service. In this role you will be working with skilled MDT colleagues providing neuropsychological rehabilitation to service users and carers across the Stroke Hub pathway.

You will be expected to undertake neuropsychological assessments drawing on broad psychological assessment skills, and to administer, interpret and integrate standardised cognitive assessments into a clients care pathway and their goals. The post-holder will be able to formulate suitable rehabilitation and therapeutic interventions based on good practice and the current evidence base. In addition, you will perform professionally based duties and responsibilities in the following areas: psychological intervention, service development, work with other agencies, applied research, service evaluation, teaching and training, supervision. The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision from a Senior Psychologist within the Brentwood ESD and stroke service, in addition to being linked in with a fast-growing neuropsychology service with regular CPD opportunities.
• Providing a specialist neuropsychological and psychological assessment service to the Brentwood ESD and stroke team for people requiring rehabilitation following stroke.
• To provide evidence based neuropsychological and psychological interventions for service users. This will include working with individuals, groups, couples and families where appropriate.
• To provide specialist neuropsychological/psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients’ formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
• To carry out professional duties and responsibilities in the following areas: clinical practice, service development, teaching and training, work with other agencies, consultancy and/or applied research and service evaluation.
• To support the development of psychological services through the supervision of clinical associate psychologists and assistant psychologists.
• To undertake complex risk assessment and risk management for clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).
