SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Qualifications and Training DipSW, CS or CQSW
Work Experience
Experience of working as asocial worker with people with a disability and their carers

Skills

Ability to analyse and interpret information gathered
Ability to identify appropriate outcome based interventions following assessment of need.

Ability to assess risk and plan care appropriately based on outcomes identified by the individual.
Ability to maintain and develop effective working relationships with other professionals and agencies in communities
Ability to work with individuals in their communities and identify their social networks.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Ability to function effectively within a team.

Knowledge
Working knowledge of current legislation application to service
Knowledge of the new Social Care and Wellbeing Act and how it impacts on social services
Awareness of health and safety issues Awareness of equalities legislation Awareness of budgetary systems

Other Requirements

Ability to carry out the duties of the post with reasonable adjustments where necessary.
Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and Barred List check (adult)
Appreciation of the importance of lifelong learning and commitment to continuous professional development
Ability to prioritise and manage one's own workload
Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh

Qualifications and training

Two years post qualifying experience as a qualified social worker in a local authority

Knowledge and Experience

Evidence of effective professional guidance facilitation and advice to newly qualified and less qualified social work colleagues

Appreciation of the importance of financial record keeping, probity and regularity

Evidence of facilitation and/or supervision of qualified and unqualified staff, students, and other team members

Mental Capacity/Best Interest Assessments Safeguarding
Deprivation of Liberty

Proven ability of managing complex cases
