Summary
Nursery Assistant
We are looking for an additional staff member to enhance our provision and support qualified staff to deliver our curriculum in a fun and stimulating manner, that appeals to children’s naturally inquisitive nature. You will need to have a love for fun, story reading, enactment, singing and dancing. Our Nursery has a high focus on the outdoors and the benefits it brings to the wellbeing of our children and staff, so you will need to bring your wellies!

The staff team must present as excellent role models to all children, know, understand, and comply with all our policies and procedures to ensure our standards are maintained.
You will be required to:
• To support the Employer and staff in providing appropriate learning experiences for the children attending the Nursery at any given time.
• To undertake training in the understanding of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• To understand the expected levels of confidentiality and diversity of working with children and their families.
• To ensure the safety and wellbeing of those children.
• To be honest and respectful.
• Be understanding, sympathetic and encouraging to the individual needs of the children.
To assist the staff in:
• Delivering stimulating and engaging, age-appropriate activities for the Children.
• Comply with the welfare and development matters within the EYFS.
• Read, understand, and comply with Bridgemont Nursery’s policies and procedures.
• Work with the Employer and staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the Children at all times, whilst at the setting.
• Attend staff meetings and training as part of CPD, which might be outside of normal working hours.
• Soothe and comfort injured Children in line with the Bridgemont Nursery’s policies and procedures and administer first aid/medical care to the extent authorised by the parental/carer and personal qualifications and experience.
• To carry out any other duties within the nature of the job and level of the post that are required in order to support daily running of the Nursery.
Desirable experience:
• Level 2 or 3 Childcare
• Safeguarding training
• Food safety
• Health and Safety
Skills:
• Time management and organisational skills.
• Working as part of a team.
• Effective communication using appropriate methods and language, including ICT, written and spoken language skills.
Hours:
09:00 – 13:00 Three or four mornings per week. Term time only. Provide cover for staff absences when required.
